INGREDIENTS

  • 16 oz. fresh green beans
  • 12 oz. mushrooms, crimini, fresh
  • 1 tbsp. garlic
  • 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cream, half and half
  • 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper, ground
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, ground
  • 1 tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt, coarse
  • 1 Tbs. corn starch

DIRECTIONS

Measure ingredients, slice mushrooms, cut onions into a small dice and mince the garlic. Set aside.

Place a steam basket in a medium pot with water, place the green beans and cook for 6‐8 minutes. While beans are cooking, sauté the mushrooms with the oil until soft (using water if necessary).

Add the onions and garlic and cook until soft. Make a slurry combining 3 Tbs. of half and half with the cornstarch and set aside.

Pour in the half and half and reduce the heat to medium‐low. Add the rest of the spices. Bring to a simmer and add the cornstarch slurry to thicken.

Place green beans in serving platter and pour in the sauce.
